Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with strong customer service skills and a solid foundation in bookkeeping and accounting. If you’re a logical thinker who excels in math, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you! This role involves supporting our team in various bookkeeping tasks, payroll processing, tax preparation, and general office support. While experience in bookkeeping and payroll is preferred, we are open to training the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bookkeeping data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Reconcile monthly bank statements and assist with financial statement preparation.
- Prepare and process payroll, including scheduling payroll deposits and preparing quarterly and annual payroll reports.
- Assist with entry-level tax preparation for individual and business returns.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, file documents, and handle various clerical functions as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients via phone and email as well as in person.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with bookkeeping data entry, monthly reconciliations, payroll, and financial statement preparation.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Previous payroll processing experience, including familiarity with payroll software.
- A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and math.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.

Pay & Benefits:
- Pay is commensurate with experience.
- Benefits available after a waiting period (for full-time employees).

- This is an in-office position. Remote work is not available.
