Our busy law firm is currently seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for carrying out administrative tasks and providing support to the legal team. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem solving skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents
- Transcribing dictation, editing, and proofreading documents
- Complete administrative duties such as making copies, coordinating appointments, answering and directing phone calls, and greeting clients.
- Organize and maintain documents in paper and electronic filing systems.
- Manage legal documentation and correspondence in strict confidence.
- Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Able to take direction and work independently and efficiently
- 2 years of legal experience preferred
- Experience in probate/estate planning law preferred but not necessary
