Harrisburg Academy is an International Baccalaureate School seeking a Lower School Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will have Primary Years Program experience; however, it is not required. We are seeking a highly collaborative team player within a child centered environment with a passion for teaching and learning. This position reports to the Head of Lower School. Responsibilities include maintaining an engaging classroom environment, assessing and reporting progress of students, leading parent conferences, and managing parent communications, while implementing the core second grade curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications Include

Preferred Qualifications Include
- Elementary Education Degree
- Previous classroom teaching experience; 2 years preferred
- Ease of establishing positive and supportive relationships with students and family
- Contribute to the Lower School faculty through curriculum work and ongoing work of the division
- A deep understanding of educating the whole child
- Openness to collaboration and planning with Lower School colleagues and faculty across all grade levels
- Strong technology skills, knowledge of various platforms, and experience with technology integration in classrooms
- An ability to meet varied tasks and responsibilities with integrity, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and humor
- An understanding of child development and respectful, restorative behavior management techniques
