This individual is responsible for teaching and supervising young children in the classroom and in our outside activity areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maximize classroom space and provided materials to encourage fun and creative activities for after school learning and play, supporting both group and individual play.
- Supervise students in outdoor and playground activity areas ensuring their safety.
- Foster a positive morale among colleagues.
- Has strong, clear communication skills with students, colleagues and parents.
- Enforce the program rules, expectations and structure.
- Address behavioral issues as they arise.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong connection with students leading to a positive community culture.
- Organized and purposeful using materials, in planning, and with flexibility.
- Attentive to the physical needs of students.
- Assists in the orderly arrival and dismissal to and from Extended Care
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing high school diploma; completion and receipt of high school diploma preferred.
- Childcare experience and post-high school EEC or ECE credits a plus.
