POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Coordinator serves as a linchpin between the marketing and fundraising teams, contributing to the YMCA's mission of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This role is pivotal in amplifying the organization's impact through high quality photography, strategic content creation, engaging storytelling, and effective brand stewardship. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of creativity, organizational skills, and a passion for promoting community well-being.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Creation and Management:

  • Maintain editorial calendars to coordinate content marketing efforts across various platforms.
  • Collaborate with staff association-wide to develop, create, and curate content aligned with the YMCA's strategic goals.
  • Utilize multimedia formats, including photos, videos, and written content, to craft compelling stories, blogs, social media posts, and advertisements that drive engagement and support.

Social Media and Digital Marketing:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance the YMCA's online presence and community engagement.
  • Support planning and execution of email marketing campaigns, including newsletters, program messages, and donor communications.
  • Assist in the creation of messaging that highlights the impact of YMCA programs in diverse communities, effectively conveying the YMCA's role as a leading nonprofit organization.

Donor Stewardship and Communication:

  • Assist in the execution of stewardship initiatives to cultivate donor relationships and express appreciation for their support.
  • Craft compelling narratives and communication materials that showcase the tangible outcomes of donor contributions, illustrating the Y's vital role in community development.
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to integrate storytelling into donor communication strategies, reinforcing the Y's position as a trusted charitable organization.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to content production, media assets, and event planning activities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of marketing materials and resources.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance marketing and fundraising efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related field or a combination of education and experience in a related discipline.
  • Previous experience with photography and/or videography highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in content creation, digital marketing, or nonprofit communications preferred.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, Canva, Microsoft Suite, and CRM systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey compelling stories and messages.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for the YMCA's mission and commitment to promoting community well-being and social impact.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee must provide reliable daily transportation.

COMMITMENT TO CHILD SAFETY:

As a youth-serving organization, all staff share the responsibility to keep children safe, and this position requires that the incumbent read and sign the separate “Youth Protection Policy for Personnel and Volunteers” statement and abide by it.

Employees and volunteers who do not directly supervise consumers will:

  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
  • Attend required abuse risk management training.
  • Report suspicious and inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
  • Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to job specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
  • Maintenance employees and volunteers—ensure unused rooms and closed rooms remain locked; routinely monitor high-risk locations (locker rooms and bathrooms), etc.
  • Front Desk personnel—ensure consumers are properly signed in and signed out; ensure only authorized adults are allowed in the facility, etc.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
