SUMMARY:

In accordance with the law, the Harrisburg City School District is providing opportunities to our students with disabilities during the summer. The ESY Programming is an opportunity for students to practice the skills they learned during the school year and to diminish learning loss. The purpose of the program is to provide a 5-week summer program for our students with disabilities, so they do not experience a significant amount of regression in the skills that they learned during this school year. The program will teach academic and social skills in a fun and energetic manner.

WORK CONTRACT: June 24 - July 31, 2025 (no sessions the week of July 4th). ESY is Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 8:00am-1:00pm for staff and from 8:30am – 12:30pm for students. ESY will be held at Ben Franklin Elementary. Speech Camp is Tuesdays-Thursdays, 12:30pm-2:00pm.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Teaching Certificate in the areas of Special Education, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Therapy

2. Educational Instruction and/or employment experience with Autism, Emotional Support and Life Skills students

3. High professional and ethical standards

4. Knowledge and understanding of best instructional practices

5. Excellent oral and written communication skills

6. Ability to interact effectively with students, staff and parents.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to work effectively in a team environment. This position will be based out of the Harrisburg School District buildings.

SALARY: In accordance with HEA contract agreement
