Substitute Teacher Job Description:
Substitute Teachers assist licensed teachers in implementing and supporting instructional programs for students, both in group settings and one-on-one. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining classroom discipline, and leading activities designated by the licensed teacher. Substitute Teachers help maintain a positive, school-wide learning environment.
Substitute Teacher Qualifications:
Substitute Teachers must apply for or possess a valid Oregon Teaching or Substitute Teaching License. Licensing is handled through the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) and must be obtained before one can be qualified to work as a Substitute Teacher.
