Position Overview:
The Dean of Students provides strategic leadership and oversight for comprehensive student support services that foster student success, engagement, and well-being. The Dean plays a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience through effective programs, collaborative initiatives, and data-driven strategies aimed at promoting academic achievement, personal development, and holistic support.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic objectives to enhance student services, focusing on retention, academic support, and overall student success.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to enrich the student experience and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Oversight of Student Support Services:
- Supervise and provide guidance to key areas including academic advising, student success initiatives, counseling services, and ADA compliance.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, student-centered support services that address diverse student needs.

Policy Adherence & Student Conduct:
- Ensure university policies are student-focused, compliant with Title IX, ADA regulations, and other conduct-related policies.
- Oversee student conduct processes with fairness, consistency, and commitment to educational outcomes.
- Crisis Response & Case Management:
- Collaborate with Campus safety and University Police in response to student crises, addressing concerns related to mental health, financial hardships, academic struggles, and personal challenges.
- Coordinate case management efforts to support students in distress and connect them with appropriate resources.

Collaboration with Faculty & Staff:
- Foster partnerships with academic departments, faculty, and administrative offices to streamline student support efforts.
- Advocate for student needs within institutional decision-making processes.

Student Experience & Engagement:
- Lead initiatives that promote student involvement, leadership development, and a vibrant campus culture.
- Support programs and activities that contribute to a positive, inclusive university environment.

Executive Weekend Oversight:
- Manage and coordinate executive weekends, ensuring seamless experiences for students, faculty, and staff.
- Provide leadership and operational support for events and activities held during these weekends.

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement:
- Utilize data to assess student success metrics and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement evidence-based practices to refine services and enhance resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, student affairs, counseling, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in student services or related areas.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, student success initiatives, and crisis management.
- Strong knowledge of Title IX, ADA compliance, and student conduct policies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and foster an inclusive environment.
