Our dedicated Library staff operates in two dynamic clusters: information resources and information services. Under the visionary leadership of the Provost, our University Librarian not only manages the Library’s budget and resources but also inspires and guides our team of librarians.
The Librarian’s role is pivotal, providing strategic vision and ensuring seamless communication with administration, faculty, and students. They coordinate university information resources, ensuring everyone has access to the knowledge they need, and offer training to help the university community make the most of these resources.

- Visionary Leadership: Set a forward-thinking vision for the library’s collection and educational services, emphasizing equity, empowerment, and expanded access.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with academic programs and College offices to advise on evolving library and information-literacy practices.
- Policy and Decision-Making: Establish library policies through collaborative leadership with faculty, students, staff, and community members.
- Collection and Service Management: Curate the library collection and information services to meet evolving curricular and student learning needs.
- Mentorship and Supervision: Mentor and supervise library personnel, including librarians, part-time support staff, and student workers.
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage the library budget, and negotiate contracts with vendors to provide optimal resources.
- Assessment and Improvement: Assess and improve library resources and services to meet curricular student learning outcomes.
- Instructional Development: Develop and implement the library’s instructional offerings for information literacy.
- Committee Participation: Serve on College, consortium, and regional affiliate committees as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or higher degree from an ALA-accredited program.
- Experience: Three or more years of relevant supervisory experience in a library, with a record of increasing responsibility and success in contemporary library services.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
