OverviewThe VP, ACD / Copy is responsible for creating a comprehensive copy platform for each assigned account.The VP, ACD ensures that the work is on strategy and contributes to growing the Client's business.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the development and execution of all Agency offeringsCreate comprehensive copy platform for each assigned accountEnsure that Agency work is on strategy and contributes to growing the Client's businessWork as a team with art directors to develop conceptual approaches to meet Client objectivesDemonstrate sound understanding of marketingProvide extensive strategic input into marketing / advertising initiativesDemonstrate thorough knowledge of Client's businessDevelop positive, productive relationships with all members of Client / Agency teamAttend relevant trade shows and share learnings with teamDemonstrate understanding of market research to create test materials and be an effective research attendeeMaintain positive relationships with internal business group departments such as Editorial and TrafficDemonstrate high level of professional craftsmanship and superior writing skillsBe aware of, and familiar with, medical and scientific information that pertains to Agency brandsMaintain awareness of current advertising, marketing, and other communicationsDemonstrate the ability to work in various forms of mediaProvide constructive and direct on-going feedback and generate performance reviews for team membersManage, mentor and supervise direct reports as well as other relevant creative staffEffective presenter-clearly communicate creative concepts and sell Agency work to both Clients and new business prospectsManage freelancers, when neededFunction autonomously on a day-to-day basis but involve supervisor in major decisions; be able to effectively take over CD's function when CD is unavailableOffer original solutions for creative strategic tactical challengesAdditional Responsibilities Communicate effectively and professionally both internally and externallyDemonstrate good problem-solving and interpersonal skillsDemonstrate ability to set priorities while handling multiple projects and to delegate work appropriatelyRemain calm despite high pressure situationsProject a professional, positive attitude toward peers and clients within the department and the agencyUphold Agency quality standards in servicing the ClientMaintain accurate time sheetsFoster a positive team atmosphere demonstrating respect for peers and supervisorsAssist other members of department / team as needed when workload allowsFoster senior level partnerships with creative / account colleaguesResponsibilities Monitor Time Off / Vacation schedules for appropriate coverageAssign work to assure project deadlines are metMonitor overall workload to effect efficiency and assure that waiting or downtime is minimizedKeep supervisor or department head apprised of any workload challenges / concerns on assigned team accounts that may necessitate hiring freelancersMonitor, review and approve direct report's time sheets in terms of hours worked on specific jobsProvide constructive and direct ongoing feedback to direct reportsEvaluate performance of direct reports and complete and deliver performance reviewsHelp supervisor manage and resolve staff issues including performance, personal presentation and internal interactionsRecommend adjustments / additions to the roles and procedures of the department to achieve continuous improvement and efficiency across all accounts and / or specific accountsHelp interview, train and orient new team members to the agency, department, and account(s) at the direction of department headProvide ongoing guidance to all team members and be available to them as a resource for account / agency / departmental policies, procedures, etc.Vice-President Responsibilities Advocate of Harrison and Star; makes decisions with the agency's and employees' best interest in mindEmbodies the four core values; commitment, collaboration, creativity and code of ethicsProvides leadership within his / her department as well as across the agencyProactively provides suggestions that Impact agency policy and operationsDemonstrates support of the agency's goals and missionPresents a professional and positive image of Harrison and Star both internally and externallyAbility to identify, recruit, train and develop talent; motivates direct reports, and acts as a mentor to allQualifications College degree8 years of Copywriting experience3-4 years of supervisory experienceAgency experience including1 year direct-to-physicianProficiency with word processing programsExcellent oral communication and presentation skills.The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
