Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. The Accountant will play a key role in supporting the organization’s financial health and providing insights through financial report interpretation.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
- Perform journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Utilize financial software to streamline accounting processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Proven experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software applications (experience with specific software is a plus).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Previous experience mentoring or training staff is advantageous.
