Job Summary/Objective:
The LPN/RN in the outpatient clinic provides professional nursing care to patients within a clinic or physician practice setting. Responsibilities include assisting physicians during treatments and examinations, administering medications as per physician orders, and performing other therapeutic measures either independently or under physician guidance. The LPN/RN observes, records, and reports symptoms, reactions, and patient progress, while also providing patient education on illness management, disease prevention, and health promotion. State licensure is required.
Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional nursing care in compliance with physician directives and established clinic protocols.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations, minor procedures, and treatments.
- Administer medications and perform therapeutic interventions as ordered by physicians or within nursing scope of practice.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, medical histories, and presenting symptoms.
- Observe and document patient conditions, symptoms, and responses to treatments, and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
- Provide patient education on managing chronic illnesses, preventing disease, and promoting overall health and wellness.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as blood draws, EKGs, or wound cultures and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Triage incoming patient calls and walk-ins, providing clinical advice and scheduling follow-up care as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, medication safety, and patient privacy standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and other team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness for patient care activities.

Education, Certificates, and License:
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ASN or BSN) required.
Certificates / License:
- Current LPN or RN license in the state of Missouri or ability to obtain.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, active or within 30 days of hire.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in outpatient or clinic settings is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, and occasional bending or reaching.
- Dexterity: Fine motor skills for administering injections and operating medical equipment.
- Posture: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods during patient care and documentation.
- Lifting: Occasionally lift/move supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
