Job Description
Job Title: Provider Credentialing Specialist
Supervisor: HCCHD Director of Revenue Cycle
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Full-Time/Hybrid
Qualifications: Minimum of a High School diploma; Associate degree is preferred. Office experience (3 years preferred with 1 year in Healthcare or Insurance).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accrediting institutions.
- Credentialing of physicians and other health practitioners.
- Collect and maintain an accurate practitioner database and analyzing verification information
- Monitor provider licenses and credentialing expiration dates.
- Work closely with the Revenue Cycle Director and billing staff to identify and resolve any denials or authorization issues related to provider credentialing.
- Support the role of the Director of Revenue Cycle.
- Assume various other responsibilities from performing clerical duties to assisting with operations reporting.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of computerized medical software; quickly learn new technologies and electronic medical record (EMR) workflow changes.
- Attend continuing education classes and conferences.
- Maintain high standards; inspire and encourage others to uphold the best practices of professionalism by articulating & demonstrating professional behavior, collaborate, accept responsibility & accountability for actions.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and be proficient in multi-tasking.
- Able to make decisions and initiate action under stress in critical situations.
- Possess effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patient & business functions.
- Embrace and participate in a teamwork-oriented environment.
- Follow all Harrison County Community Hospital District and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure Harrison County Community Hospital is maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
