Job Summary/Objective
The Reimbursement Specialist ensures timely and accurate billing of patient accounts while resolving billing-related issues. This position involves reviewing patient accounts, determining efficient billing methods, and verifying data accuracy for initial billing, rebilling, and late charge processing. The role also includes addressing concerns presented by patients or their representatives.
Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities
• Ensure all patient accounts are billed accurately and promptly.
• Review patient accounts to determine the most efficient billing methods to expedite processing.
• Gather and organize materials required for initial billing preparation.
• Verify billing data to ensure accuracy in all aspects of billing, including rebilling and late charge processing.
• Resolve billing inquiries and concerns raised by patients or their representatives.
• Maintain compliance with established billing policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address account-related issues effectively.
• Monitor and report billing trends or issues to management as needed.

Education, Certificates, and Licenses
Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
Certificates/Licenses:
• Relevant medical billing certifications are a plus.
Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• May need to lift and move items up to 15 lbs.
