Overview:

Under the direction of the Wellness Director, the Wellness Floor Staff oversees the entire upper level of the YMCA facility. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, enforcing rules and regulations, and creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all members. Wellness Floor Staff must be sociable, energetic, and confident in their ability to engage with members while ensuring policies are upheld. Staff are expected to lead by example and consistently demonstrate the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Healthy Living Director in planning and implementing health and wellness programs and initiatives.
- Responsible for the Post Rehab Training Program.
- Implement and oversee all Evidence Based Health programs.
- Development and implementation of the organization’s HIPAA compliance policies and procedures.
- Share the “YMCA Story” will all involved in programs.
- Maintain safe program areas, including indoor and outdoor areas, YMCA and non-YMCA facilities.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment related to programs.
- Follow accident reporting procedures and policies.
- Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety.
- Assume other duties deemed necessary.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required. Prefer a 2-year college degree in a Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation or health related field. Will accept experience in lieu of college degree.
- Requires training and certifications in YMCA fitness programs.
- Requires training, certifications or experience with group exercise, program development, and YMCA fitness programs.
- Personal leadership and commitment to health and wellness.
- Requires knowledge of computer software application and hardware. Employee must have working knowledge of Windows Office Suite.
- Ability to interpret, carry out and implement into programs, the mission and goals of the YMCA.
- Ability to supervise staff and volunteers while actively handling a variety of functions at the same time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to physically and verbally interact with members and staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with adults, youth, teens, seniors and special populations.
- Must possess the skills to operate standard office and computer equipment.
- At times, be able to lift amounts up to 50 lbs.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Work is performed in a fast-paced wellness floor/office environment and requires occasional work in off-site locations.
