Position Overview :
Our client is seeking a full-time Tax Manager to join their tax and accounting group in a hybrid capacity, based out of their Muskegon, MI office. This role involves overseeing client services related to tax preparation and planning (for both individuals and businesses) and accounting services. The ideal candidate will independently review tax returns, provide constructive feedback to staff, communicate effectively with clients, and identify tax planning opportunities in collaboration with leadership.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review and finalize individual and business income tax returns prepared by staff.
- Oversee accounting services for clients, including financial statement preparation and / or compilation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, the IRS, and other professionals as needed.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Conduct tax research and remain current on changes in tax laws.
- Identify errors, omissions, and planning opportunities from prior-year documentation, draft returns, and client-provided information.
- Manage engagement budgets and billing processes.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to preparers and staff.
