Maintenance Technician Job Description
Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Harrison Poultry; Bethlehem, GA
Employment Type: Full Time/Dayshift
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for monitoring, repairing, and adjusting various types of poultry processing equipment. This role includes addressing electrical issues, performing general maintenance tasks, and supporting different areas of the plant as needed. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and possess a broad range of maintenance skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Monitor, repair, and adjust poultry processing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Electrical Work:
- Address electrical issues, including 480 V, 208 V, and 240 V systems (both three-phase and single-phase).
- General Maintenance:
- Perform maintenance tasks such as plumbing, piping, welding, cutting, and grinding.
- Plant Support:
- Adapt to working in various parts of the plant and assist with diverse maintenance needs.
- Learning and Adaptability:
- Acquire and apply a broad range of maintenance skills as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience preferred; experience with poultry maintenance is a plus.
- Experience with PLC, inverters, and control wiring is advantageous.
- Welding experience preferred; TIG welding is a plus.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions.
- Must supply personal tools; specialty tools will be provided by Harrison Poultry.
- Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with team members.
- Ability to work well with others and adapt to various tasks.
Work Environment:
- The role is based primarily within the poultry processing plant.
- Maintenance Technicians work inside the plant, including areas with exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
- The environment can be hot, cold, or wet depending on the specific area of the plant.
- Standard protective gear, including safety boots and appropriate clothing, must be worn at all times.
