Job Summary
The Program Intake Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely intake of program participants, with a specialized focus on medical billing and grant reporting. This position serves as a key point of contact for clients, manages intake documentation, ensures billing compliance, and supports data collection and reporting for grant-funded programs.
Key Responsibilities:Intake & Client Services:
- Conduct client intake interviews to gather necessary personal, medical, and financial information.
- Ensure all intake documentation is accurate, complete, and securely filed in accordance with HIPAA and program guidelines.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding program status, billing questions, or missing documentation.
- Coordinate with case managers or program staff to ensure a smooth onboarding process.
Medical Billing:
- Submit and track medical claims through appropriate billing systems or platforms.
- Follow up on claim denials, resubmissions, and billing inquiries.
Grant Reporting:
- Collect and maintain required client and service data to support accurate grant reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for funders.
- Ensure data accuracy and compliance with funding requirements.
- Work closely with program and finance staff to ensure grant objectives and deliverables are met.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Billing, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in medical billing or healthcare administration.
- Experience with grant-funded programs or nonprofit reporting preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and insurance billing procedures.
- Strong organizational and data entry skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and billing software.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
