JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Chief Communications Officer, the Director of Community Strategies will lead initiatives that strengthen districtwide engagement, partnerships, and extracurricular programs. This role oversees all district efforts related to athletics and activities, working closely with the Athletics Department and Teaching & Learning to streamline and enhance clubs, extended learning opportunities, and districtwide arts programs. Additionally, the Director will collaborate across multiple departments to develop strategic community partnerships, coordinate student leadership events, and foster alumni engagement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
COMMUNITY STRATEGIES: Provide districtwide leadership in alignment with the Chief Communications Officer’s vision, ensuring strategic coordination across departments. Support and collaborate with all relevant departments to develop, strengthen, and sustain meaningful partnerships that enhance student opportunities and advance district goals.
ATHLETICS AND ACTIVITIES: Partner with the Athletics Department to coordinate, communicate, and facilitate districtwide programming for both athletics and extracurricular activities. Collaborate with schools to offer districtwide opportunities in arts, music, STEAM, and other enrichment areas. Foster collaboration between the Athletics Department and Teaching & Learning to streamline processes for student clubs and extended learning opportunities.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP EVENTS AND ALUMNI ACTIVITIES: Lead efforts to develop and sustain strategic community partnerships that enhance student programs. Collaborate with the Communications Department to host community events such as Adopt-a-Family and Back-to-School event. Organize student leadership events, providing high school students with access to regional and state opportunities. Plan, coordinate, and promote alumni engagement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree required, and master's degree preferred.
Five years’ experience as a successful leader in the non-profit sector.
Criminal Background Check and District Fingerprinting required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY:
Excellent analytical, oral communication, written communication, and report writing skills.
Knowledge and demonstrated expertise in educator effectiveness, data analysis, and systems evaluation.
Experience in designing, implementing, presenting and evaluating measures of student learning and programs.
Eager to work as part of a high performing team that works collaboratively with District department leads, building principals and faculty to advance student learning.
Knowledge of effecting positive change in a complex organization; organizational issues involved in effecting systemic change; facilitating large scale reform initiatives; using data to identify and implement scientifically reliable and valid intervention strategies for improving student response to instruction; and using a variety of instructional strategies, such as differentiated learning, to meet the needs of all learners.
Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job.
Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities.
Ability to promote and follow Board of Education and District policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
Advanced personal computer, keyboarding, and word processing skills.
