For School Year 2024-2025 240 - Work Day Calendar (July 1 - June 30) Annual Salary: $74,581 (Actual Salary will be based on skills, competencies, and like experience) https://www.hsd2.org/our-district/financial-transparency Job Summary: The Grants Compliance Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of grant programs within Harrison School District 2. The Grants Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all grants received by the organization are compliant with relevant regulations, guidelines, and grant requirements. This individual will work closely with various departments to oversee the entire grants lifecycle, from proposal development to reporting. This role involves strategic planning, coordination, and oversight of all aspects of the grants process, from identifying funding opportunities, overseeing grant proposals, compliance, and reporting. The Grants Compliance Manager collaborates with various departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives, while also staying abreast of compliance and best practices in grant funding. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise and assist in daily grant management activities regarding compliance and deliverables. Provide guidance and training to staff involved in grant-funded activities, monitor grant expenditures to ensure they comply with applicable authority. Responsible for identifying grant funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources that align with the organizations programs and initiatives. Develop and implement a comprehensive grant strategy aligned with the district’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. Work with stakeholders to determine proper selection of grants to purusue federal, state, and local ensuring they are in alignment with district objectives. Manage grant meetings and identify roles and responsibilities throughout the lifecycle of the grant. Cultivate and maintain relationships, including government agencies, foundations, other grant-making organizations, and stakeholders. Develop and track deadlines specific to program and fiscal reporting requirements. Serve as primary point of contact for funders, responding to inquiries, providing updates, and stewarding relationship to enhance future funding opportunities. Oversee grant management process, including grant award negotiations, acceptance, budget, and compliance. Develop and maintain system for tracking grant awards, expenditures, and reporting deadlines. Monitor grant-funded programs and projects to ensure compliance with grant agreements, achievement of objectives, and spenddown. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting of grant expenditures and auditable records. Stay abreast of relevant regulations, policies, and best practices related to grant funding, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Work with Director of Finance to mitigate risks associated with grant funding, including financial, operational, and reputational risks. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of grant requirements, regulations, and compliance standards. Work with grant accountant and grant writer and program evaluator to coordinate the preparation and submission of timely and accurate grant reports to funders, detailing program outcomes, financial expenditures, and impact. Evaluate the effectiveness of grant-funded programs and projects, identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement. Work finance team to develop district budget and assist with single audit for the Designated Purpose Grants Fund (DPGF). Conduct periodic audits and reviews of grant-funded projects to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement. Prepare and submit required documentation for grant applications, renewals, and amendments. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Training and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, public administration, business administration, or a related field). Advanced degree preferred. Several years of experience in grant writing, grant management, or related fields, preferably in a nonprofit. (Preferred) Supervisory experience preferred. Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) Certification required. Strong understanding of grant funding processes, including prospect research, proposal development, compliance, and reporting requirements. Oral and written communication, English language, interpersonal relations, attention to detail, math, and accounting skills, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software platforms. Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities. Ability to promote and follow Board of Education, Superintendent, building, and department policies and procedures. Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
