Job Summary:
Recommend, install, maintain, modify, operate, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform annual maintenance on all District HVAC equipment. Perform regular facilities safety
inspections.
Investigate and analyze problems with pneumatic, electric, and direct digital controls.
Maintain all District heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment and systems. Perform
emergency repairs as needed.
Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for all District HVAC
equipment and systems.
Perform electrical repairs on motors and controls used in HVAC systems.
Maintain, inspect, analyze, and repair flame safeguard systems on boilers and roof-mounted gas
fired heating equipment.
Install upgrades to equipment and systems to maximize efficiency and safety.
Cut, bend, thread, ream, assemble, caulk, solder, and weld various pipes, metal fittings, and joints.
Inspect, supervise, and approve contract work to ensure compliance with building codes, safety
codes, and accepted industry practices.
Recommend and support equipment and supply purchases.
Coordinate projects with other trades.
Replace pump seals, motors, tube bundles, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus post-secondary courses equivalent to one year of college in HVAC repair and maintenance.
Over three years experience in HVAC repair and maintenance.
Knowledge of pneumatic controls, refrigerants, and EPA regulations.
Ability to operate various types of power tools, equipment, and test instruments required at hire.
Valid Colorado driver’s license, Regional Building Code Mechanics IV license, and EPA Refrigerant Handling certification all required at hire.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
