Harrison Steel has openings for a Heat Pourer on 1st shift This employee will set up molds to be poured and assists with the pouring operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Prepares molds, ingots, slag pits, and tests blocks to receive metal.
- Adds hot topping after pouring to open heads as required.
- Removes overhead metal from the top of molds.
- Knocks clamps off boxes per part number instructions.
- Knocks metal icicles from nozzle between pours and burn nozzles when required.
- Drags slag into pits.
- Removes pouring bar after all metal is poured.
- Removes ladle to make up area for reuse.
- Ensures ladle safety instructions are followed at all times.
- Fills in for Heat Pourers or Ladle Helpers when required.
- Hooks chains when required.
- Follows job work instructions and training matrix, where applicable.

Education/Experience:
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
