Underground Infrastructure Technologies (UIT), LLC. is a full-service contractor specializing in trenchless technologies headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado. We provide wet and dry utility installations utilizing trenchless technologies to complete projects for Departments of Transportation, Federal and State agencies, local municipalities, sewer and water districts as well as private development organizations. Position Summary:
Due to growth, we are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team. The Assistant Project Manager ensures the job stays on schedule and provides support to Project Managers, General Superintendents, Superintendents and Foreman. Organization, flexibility, outstanding customer focus, strong communication, and ability to multitask are important in performing duties of this project/field-based role. This position is critical to the success of Harrison Western.
Responsibilities:
- Supports operations/crews in the installation of work activities by assisting in the understanding of drawings and specifications
- Ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn
- Follow all health and safety policy and regulations
- Coordinate utility locates in timely manner and update as needed
- Participate in site investigations, project handoff and start-up, update, and closeout meetings as needed
- Assist Project Manager in creating, updating, and utilizing schedule information to help determine required materials, subcontractor scheduling, staffing, and other aspects of project management
- Help in preparing, organizing, and coordinating RFI, submittal and invoicing documents related to assigned scope of work
- Inventory, organize, procure, and maintain materials and tooling for work activities
- Assist in collecting information and pricing options for potential change orders
- Assist Estimating department in plan take offs, spec review, cost gathering, preparation of estimates and proposals
- Solicit new bidding opportunities, research plans for potential opportunities
- Perform archive filing and historical cost data gathering
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Travel and presence at different jobsites throughout the United States may be required
Required Skills:
- 3 years’ prior construction experience required as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager
- Detail oriented sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks simultaneously
- Applicable mathematical skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly
- Proven positive and professional attitude
- Strong customer service and multi-tasking skills
- Current driver’s license, good driving record and ability to drive to jobsites throughout Colorado and at times, throughout the nation
- Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle record and drug screening
- Proficient with the Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Bid to Win (B2W), CAD, Bluebeam Revu, and/or MS Project experience a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mining, construction management or related field and/or relevant experience may substitute education
- Master’s degree in engineering, mining, construction management or related field a plus
- EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) certification a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation of $70,000 to $100,000/per year DOE
