What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sunday Service Technology Specialist position at Harrisonburg Unitarian Universalists?
The purpose of this position is to operate the computer technology during hybrid Sunday morning worship services for a small congregation. The Hybrid Worship Service Technician will manage a small system of laptops, TV monitors, webcams, and microphones connected to Zoom and used to enable two-way communication between congregates in the church building and congregates participating via Zoom. The Technician will also serve as the Zoom Host, which involves starting the meeting, admitting Zoom participants, sharing content, monitoring audio and video, and addressing issues when necessary.
Required experience includes using computer technology (Windows required; Mac experience a plus); common applications such as PowerPoint, Word, and web browsers; consumer-grade webcams; small sound system; and virtual meeting tools. Must have ability to work effectively with others, follow an order of service, multitask, and solve problems. Experience with Zoom preferred. Must be available Sunday mornings 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Might require minimal communication with service facilitator via email or phone during the week.
