What are the responsibilities and job description for the Caramel Popcorn Formulator (Day Shift) position at Harry and David?
The Popcorn Formulator creates and maintains slurry batches and produces caramel corn to department quality and efficiency standards. The Popcorn Formulator position will operate the Popcorn manufacturing equipment, weigh, measure, and blend ingredients to formulate Moose Munch batches in a safe and efficient manner. The Formulator will also monitor ingredients to ensure continuous production and maintain production records, lot dates and pallet counts. In addition, they are responsible for notifying the supervisor of inventory shortages that could disrupt the production flow.
- Assure safe and efficient operations and produce acceptable quality products at or above standard.
- Work with or support a team environment in manufaturing.
- Maintain accurate formulation and lot tracing information.
- Maintain accurate inventories an minimize scrap/waste
- Alert supervisor to inventory shortages and quality issues that affect production flow.
- Follow all safety and food safety practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma, GED Certificate or equivalent work-related experience is preferred.
- Some previous work-related experience helpful, but not required.
- Performing physical activities that require use of hands/wrist, walking, bending, balancing, twisting reaching, lifting a minimum of 50 pounds (less 20% of time) and standing up to 10 hours.
- Working near moving mechanical parts
- Will be working in dust noise and varied temperatures (65˚- 85˚).
- Bakery Candy Kitchen Food Safety, Dress Code and Sanitation requirements must be followed.
