HR Recruiter
Harry Meyering Center supports people with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities.
Job Purpose
The Human Resource Recruiter will recruit and hire qualified applicants with a background of previous work success. Must maintain confidential information and exhibit excellent problem-solving skills in the performance of job purposes. The HR Recruiter will provide support to the Human Resource Department.
Location: HMC Office located in Mankato, Minnesota.
Wage: $21.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service to all external and internal contacts.
- Assist with orientation and training.
- Maintain HR Database, recording employee and applicant information.
- Screen and schedule interviews for all HMC applicants.
- Ensure all steps are completed in the hiring process to ensure qualified applicants are hired in a timely manner.
- Assist the Employee Success Manager with recruitment efforts, such as advertising, career fairs, etc.
- Completion of clerical tasks related to employee hire: hire letter, driving record check, in-house application, and ensure file destruction plan(s) are followed.
- Extend employment offer to qualified candidate; contact those not considered for hire.
- Will be sensitive to our employees' needs and those of the people we serve.
- Explore and assist in the development of new and innovative ways to recruit and retain employees.
- Ensure all paperwork conforms to company policies as it pertains to recruiting compliance practices.
- Maintain HIPAA Compliance in all written or verbal communications, both external and internal to HMC.
- Follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Pursue professional growth and development.
- Other duties as assigned, including possible administrative support duties.
Qualifications: Related degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources preferred. Prior customer service experience is preferred. This position requires a valid Driver’s License and pass a driving record check conducted by our insurance carrier, unless otherwise noted.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effectively communicating with individuals, the community, and co-workers.
- Must be self-motivated and exhibit superior interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have advanced knowledge of technology programs. IE: Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, PowerPoint, and have prior knowledge or be willing to learn any applicable technology systems.
- Display exceptional documentation skills, knowledge of systems, routines, and programming.
- Must work with colleagues and have the ability to work independently to carry out job duties as assigned.
- Must pass the MN Department of Human Services Background Study.
