Job Purpose : Work as part of the managing editorial team to produce an annual list of high-quality board books, picture books, chapter books, young adult novels, and graphic novels.
Responsibilities :
- Work closely with editorial, design, and manufacturing production departments to guide books through the preproduction process, including tracking manuscripts, coordinating with teams, and maintaining publication schedules
- Review manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, and style consistency, ensuring adherence to the company’s editorial guidelines and standards
- Conduct thorough reviews of layouts, proofs, and galley copies to identify and address any errors or discrepancies before final publication
- Hire, manage, and evaluate freelance copy editors, proofreaders, and indexers
- Use title management system to create and track schedules
- Contribute to production meetings
- Track book-related materials for sales and marketing uses
