Position Overview : We are seeking a talented and versatile graphic designer to join our publishing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in print design, with a passion for books and a keen eye for typography. You will collaborate closely with editors, freelancers, art directors, and other team members to create beautiful, impactful designs that align with each book's unique vision and target audience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design visually appealing book covers and interior layouts for a variety of genres, formats, and subject matters.
- Collaborate with editors, authors, and art directors to develop design concepts that align with the book's themes, audience, and marketplace positioning
- Work collaboratively with illustrators and photographers to create strong and effective solutions
- Prepare files for print production, ensuring all technical specifications are met and files are print-ready.
- Coordinate with editorial and production teams to ensure projects maintain their schedules and meet high-quality standards throughout the process.
- Provide design support to art directors and fellow designers when needed
- Stay current with trends and publishing innovations in books and graphic design.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining design excellence.
Qualifications :
This position is based in our New York City office with a hybrid work schedule (in-office 3 days per week).
