ABOUT THE POSITION
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing IT infrastructure, Cloud services, and ensuring security protocols across systems.
- Leading IT teams and coordinating efforts for system upgrades, installations, and maintenance.
- Ensuring data integrity and security compliance with industry regulations.
- Developing and managing IT-related projects, budgets, and timelines.
- Collaborating with various airport departments to identify technology needs and provide solutions.
- Overseeing vendor relationships for IT services and products.
- Continuously monitoring and evaluating technology trends to improve airport IT operations.

This position is a management position and excluded from membership in the union. Further, this classification is designated exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is therefore, not eligible for overtime.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Working Conditions: May be required to flex work hours on occasion and attend meetings outside of normal working hours as needed. Specified positions in this title may work with exposure to potential hazards on the airfield, construction sites or other airport locations.
Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.
Medical Examination: Employment in specified positions in this title may be contingent upon the results of a pre-employment medical examination.
Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.
Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.
Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. Note: all prospective hires must present two original government issued ID's upon acceptance of job offer. Examples of acceptable ID's include a Passport, Driver's License or DMV issued ID, birth certificate, Social Security card, Voter Registration card, school issued ID with picture, etc.
Customs and Border Protection Security Seal Program: Employment with the Department of Aviation in this job title is contingent upon a ten year employment and five year residency history record check and the ability to present original identity based documentation in order to meet the requirements for a Security Seal.

Develops and implements goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for a division and/or work unit; prepares and administers the division's budget. Plans, organizes assigns, supervises, reviews, and evaluates the work of professional, technical, licensed, certified or specially-skilled staff, normally through subordinate supervision. Recommends selection of staff; trains staff and provides for their professional development; administers discipline as required. Develops procedures, operational manuals, training curriculum, certifications and letters of agreement with appropriate agencies. Participates in and reviews proposals and evaluates consultant qualifications and negotiates and administers contracts. Manages the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by acting on suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Manages contracts for services provided by outside vendors. Coordinates procurement of equipment, supplies, and materials. Contributes to the overall quality of the department's service provision by developing and coordinating work teams, and by reviewing, recommending, and implementing improved policies and procedures. Develops sound and practical solutions for problems; provides assistance to Airport staff and contractor representatives. Develops and implements performance measures, benchmarking and quality assurance standards based on the establishment of challenging and achievable goals; manages performance and the subsequent evaluation of productivity and effectiveness of assigned projects. Maintains liaison with and coordinates activities and efforts with other divisions, airport tenants, contractors, and area public agencies. Directs the preparation and maintenance of accurate records and files including history, vendor, and supplier records, and prepares a variety of periodic and special reports and correspondence. Serves as a member of various committees and task forces related to areas of expertise. Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; may drive a personal or County motor vehicle to attend meetings and visit off-site County locations.
