JCC Rainbow Day Camp is excited to continue offering our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program ! This program is designed for high school students aged 15 and 16, entering their sophomore or junior year, who are eager to embark on a fun, rewarding, and skill-building summer experience.
The CIT Program focuses on developing essential leadership skills that prepare teens to become successful camp staff members. Participants will engage in both independent and team-based activities, honing critical skills such as trust-building, creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and effective communication—all within the dynamic environment of a summer camp.
In addition to fostering leadership, the program unites teens from different communities across Milwaukee and Ozaukee counties, creating a shared experience of growth, collaboration, and fun. CITs will gain hands-on experience through various training sessions, including CPR certification, community service projects, activity planning and leadership, field trips to other summer camps, and more.
This application is only for applicants who have not already completed the CIT Program.)
The CIT program is :
- A chance for personal skill development, as well as leadership development, and growth.
- A hands-on training program for future counselors.
- A learning opportunity for teens entering 10th and 11th grade.
- The opportunity to learn about working with children and program development.
- An opportunity to challenge their interpersonal relations through intentional training sessions and coaching.

Session Details :
There will be 2 sessions (each 4 weeks in length)
Requirements
Application and an interview are required for eligible candidates.
Compensation :
All first year CITs will receive a day rate of $50
CITs will not be paid for the bus ride to and from camp or for their 30-minute lunch break).
JCC Rainbow Day Camp will also sign off on any service hours required for school.
