Job Description
Job Summary :
This position is responsible for extensive travelling to various sites and operating off road type heavy, mobile equipment (such as cable or dragline crane, hydraulic material handler / excavator, pot carrier, and / or front-end loader). This position may be working rotating shifts. All work will be performed in a steel mill environment. Duties include but not limited to :
A. Perform and record routine mobile equipment pre-start and post inspections,
B. Complete required activity reports.
C. Follow all policies and rules of the company and the customer
D. Maintain high level of safety and abide by all safe work requirements.
E. Training operators on proper equipment operation
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 3 years’ experience as a heavy equipment operator.
3. Ability to do manual labor in an outdoor environment that may include elevated areas and extreme weather conditions.
4. Good communications skills, and the ability to read operating instructions.
5. Proactive in SAFETY and works well in a team environment.
6. Ability to travel
