Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and techniques, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients effectively.
Hours: 5am-8am Monday- Friday
Responsibilities
- Collects lab order.
- Demonstrates ability to use LabCorp Accudraw to identify equipment needed.
- Gathers appropriate supplies.
- Verifies correct patient.
- Performs hand hygiene and applies disposable gloves.
- Applies tourniquet and assesses for appropriate insertion site.
- Cleanses site with antimicrobial wipe.
- Demonstrates ability to collect blood with the evacuated tube system.
- Demonstrates ability to collect blood with a syringe.
- Demonstrates ability to collect blood with a “butterfly” syringe.
- Correctly disposes of sharps.
- Demonstrates proper use of centrifuge. and verbalizes understanding of processing instructions.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of clinical laboratory practices and procedures.
- Understanding of human physiology, anatomy, and vital signs.
- Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques related to phlebotomy.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients compassionately.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care.
