PRIMARY FUNCTION
We are looking for skilled and committed NON-CDL Para-Transit Operator (driver) for our SEPTA Operation that wants to serve their community. Our business partners should be motivated to provide a positive riding experience for our passengers. As a paratransit operator, you will be picking up seniors, mobility challenged passengers and safely driving them to their destination.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Safely transport passengers to their destinations in a timely manner.
2. Provide excellent customer service to passengers, ensuring a positive experience.
3. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those with special needs or disabilities.
4. Follow all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
5. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, conducting routine inspections and reporting any maintenance issues, or vehicle damage.
6. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members to coordinate schedules and routes and assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle.
7. Work cooperatively with all staff personnel.
8. Pumps gas into fuel tank, if needed.
9. Maintains contact with dispatcher during routes.
10. Adhere to safety, sanitation and housekeeping regulations.
11. Signs in/out of work.
12. Assists coworkers as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Valid Class C Driver’s License (Must have License for 3 Years).
2. At least 21 years of age.
3. Must Pass a DOT Physical, Drug and Alcohol Test.
4. Ability to pass a background check, including criminal and driving records.
5. Commercial driving experience and proficiency as a van driver preferred.
6. Ability to manage behavior effectively, especially in challenging situations.
7. Strong customer service skills to ensure passenger satisfaction.
8. Multilingual abilities are advantageous for diverse passenger interactions.
9. Experience in senior care transportation is beneficial.
10. Willingness to educate passengers on safety measures during transit.
11. Paratransit knowledge is a plus for specialized services.
12. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
13. Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact professionally with passengers.
14. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and routes.
15. Physical stamina to sit for extended periods of time and assist passengers as needed.
Salary : $19 - $21
