Job Summary
Harter's is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of garbage trucks. This role is vital to keeping our operations running safely and efficiently.
Duties
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on trucks and equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, and transmissions
- Maintain yard equipment such as end loaders and pickup trucks
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Assist with ordering parts and maintaining inventory.
Qualifications
- Experience in diesel truck maintenance and repair (waste industry experience a plus!)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and read schematics
- Familiarity with DOT safety standards and compliance
- CDL license or ability to obtain one preferred
Schedule
- 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
