We are a Tier 1, Flight Safety Supplier to some of the Globes Top Aerospace OEMs, including Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell Aerospace, Textron Lycoming and Sikorsky to name a few.
We are seeking to hire a talented, hard-working, and committed individual for a critical role within our company. We are looking for a well experienced professional to aid in ensuring our company continues to output best in class Aerospace Components to our Tier 1 Aerospace customers. Our machined Aerospace components include complex small machined parts as well as mission critical Aerospace Fasteners. Said individual must be comfortable in working with complex, flight safety Aerospace Components as well. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup
- Set up and operate thread rolling machines to produce precision threads on aerospace fasteners and other machined components.
- Select, install, and adjust rolling dies, feed mechanisms, and pressure settings based on material and thread specifications.
- Load raw material and monitor machine operation to ensure proper thread formation and minimal defects.
Quality Control & Inspection
- Perform first-piece inspections and adjust settings as needed to meet blueprint specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools (e.g., thread gauges, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators) to verify thread dimensions and quality.
- Identify and troubleshoot common defects such as flat crests, rolled-over threads, or misalignment.
Process Optimization & Troubleshooting
- Adjust machine parameters to compensate for tool wear or material variations.
- Recognize and resolve issues related to thread pitch, lead variation, and rolling pressure.
- Work with engineers or supervisors to improve cycle times and tool life.
Material Handling & Documentation
- Handle specialty metals like stainless steel, Inconel, MP159, ensuring proper lubrication and handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate production logs, quality reports, and machine maintenance records.
- Follow routing sheets and work orders to ensure correct job processing.
Safety & Maintenance
- Adhere to shop safety standards, including proper PPE use and machine guarding.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including lubrication and die inspection.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to maintain efficiency and safety.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Communicate with setup personnel, inspectors, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Train or assist other operators as needed to ensure consistent production quality.
Must be a “US Citizen” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
Participate in training as required.
Perform other duties as required or directed, whether or not specifically mentioned in the job description.
5-10% Domestic Travel required.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.
Executes duties as assigned by supervisor.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
High school Diploma or GED.
Basic reading, writing and some advance arithmetic skills.
Ability to read and understand engineering work instructions including GD&T.
Ability to set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines.
Knowledge of appropriate speeds and feeds for materials and tools.
Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and computers.
Knowledge of Machine codes, G codes a plus.
Knowledge of Mastercam a plus.
