Hartford Athletic is seeking a dedicated Equipment Manager intern to assist in overseeing all aspects of team equipment operations and maintenance. This position plays a vital role in supporting team operations and ensuring players and staff have the necessary equipment to perform at their highest level. The Equipment Manager Intern will report directly to the club's Equipment Manager.

Equipment Management Assistance:
- Manages inventory, maintenance, and distribution of all team equipment, including uniforms, training gear, and match day supplies
- Coordinates with suppliers for uniform orders, numbering, and customization
- Maintains organized equipment room and oversees daily laundry operations for team gear
- Ensures proper marking and tracking of all team equipment and supplies
- Prepares and packs all necessary equipment for away matches and training sessions
- Maintains detailed inventory records and manages equipment budget
- Coordinates equipment needs for new player arrivals and departures
Game Day Operations Assistance:
- Arrives early to set up locker rooms for both home and away teams
- Prepares and maintains bench area and technical area equipment
- Ensures all match day uniforms and equipment meet league regulations
- Manages jersey selection and coordination with opposition teams
- Provides emergency equipment repairs and replacement during matches
- Coordinates with visiting team equipment managers for away team needs
Training Operations Assistance:
- Sets up and breaks down all training equipment daily
- Maintains training ground equipment and supplies
- Ensures proper condition of training balls, cones, mannequins, and other training aids
- Coordinates with the coaching staff for specific training session needs
- Manages cleat and goalkeeper glove inventory and maintenance
Administrative Duties Assistance:
- Maintains detailed records of equipment inventory and distribution
- Processes equipment orders and manages relationships with vendors
- Tracks equipment expenses and adheres to departmental budget
- Coordinates with kit manufacturers for team orders and customization
- Assists with annual equipment budget planning
- Maintains equipment maintenance logs and depreciation records
Essential Skills, Experience & Abilities:
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills
- Knowledge of soccer equipment and proper maintenance techniques
- Experience with professional laundry equipment and maintenance
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
- Stand/walk for extended periods
- Operate industrial laundry equipment
- Work in various weather conditions
- Ability to load and unload equipment trucks
