Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Role Scope

The General Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) will work in an ambulatory setting as a part of a team of physicians and APPs who specialize in General Surgery and Complex Hernia and Abdominal Core Health. Responsibilities include:

• Patient management will include new patient consults, short and long-term post-operative follow up in a variety of satellite offices in the greater Hartford Region, inpatient transition of care rounding at Hartford Hospital, and coordination of patient care across multiple disciplines.
• In addition, a percentage of patient management is comprised of in-office procedures including skin and soft tissue mass excisions, incision and drainages and complex wound care.
• Additional responsibilities will include assisting with system quality initiatives.

General Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Enjoy

• Full Time - Monday through Friday Schedule - No weekends - No call

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Master's program preferred
• Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
• Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant, or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN)
• Previous surgical experience in plastics, general, or colorectal surgery preferred
