Position Description
Location: University of New Haven
Some travel, weekends, evenings, and holidays are included.
The Supervisor of Athletic Training is responsible for supervising Athletic Trainers and Strength & Conditioning Coaches working in a College sports environment. This position spends 30% of time in a Supervisory capacity, and 70% of time in an Athletic Trainer capacity.
Establishes and maintains athletic training programming at each school in the region in accordance with the established standard of care across the program.
Provide athletic training services in University settings in accordance with NATA guidelines and practices (National Athletic Trainers’ Association). Provide athletic training services for assigned school’s athletic department as directed by the school’s Athletic Director and/or Team Physician(s). Assists Sports Medicine staff with prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of student-athletes’ injuries.
Attend scheduled team practices and sporting events, including travel to sporting events/competitions. Requires scheduled hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and work in compliance with all school, NATA, NCAA, America East, and Conference guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Athletic Training from an Accredited Program
3-5 years’ experience in athletic training field
Minimum 2 years Supervisory experience
Current NATA BOC Certification
State of Connecticut Athletic Training License
