Position Description
The Central Rehab Patient Service Representative (PSR) Lead serves as a support and resource for outpatient rehabilitation locations on all front office operations. Focuses on process improvements to minimize the risk of denials/lost revenue and acts as a support and mentor to all per diem PSRs, Lead PSRs and Central PSRs.
This role requires an understanding of Rehab procedures and patient history requirements for Rehab procedures.
Responsibilities:
Provides training to new employees or for new tasks to existing employees; serves as resource to colleagues on issues/questions and provides guidance; coaches for improved performance by providing appropriate feedback; maintains a positive environment.
Provides coaching and training to Patient Service Representative staff, Central PSRs, Lead PSRs on workflows/processes as appropriate/necessary. Provides feedback on PSR performance to rehab supervisors.
T racks documentation and billing for regulatory compliance by review of work in EPIC. Provides education to PSRs and clinical staff as needed to ensure compliance.
Monitors/works claim edit work ques, billing work ques to minimize denials and lost revenue. Collaborates with other departments (Rev Cycle, etc) to determine trends and opportunities. Provides education to clinical staff as appropriate.
Responsible for meeting with each new PSR hire for 1 hour at the beginning and end of onboarding to review expectations and support if new hire has any questions on resources.
Qualifications
High School Diploma Required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or business field preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Patient Service Representative or similar role
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Lead Patient Service Representative Preferred
