Job Summary :
Functioning within the context of the framework for professional nursing practice, the Nurse Educator, in consultation and collaboration with nursing leadership and the Health Care Team, facilitates training, education and development by assessing, planning, developing, implementation, coordination and evaluation of projects and programs for staff, faculty, patient populations and the community. This is accomplished to ensure role competence, compliance with regulatory standards, and to meet organizational goals in the Patient Services Department.
This role involves the education of the complex diabetic patient across the continuum of care including education of diabetes standards and individualized plan of care of the diabetic patients to be coordinated and reviewed with bedside RNs, and education to the clinical teams of diabetes best practice standards.
Qualifications
3 years active clinical and 1 year of acute care experience
BLS required
Current CT RN license
CDES certification to be obtained within one year
