What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Science Teacher position at Hartford Public Schools?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree
- Possess valid Michigan teaching certificate for teaching K-8 or 6-12 with a DA (Biology), DX (Science) or DI (Integrated Science) endorsement
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior successful teaching experience preferred
- Exemplary communications skills-both written and verbal
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for instructing students at the secondary level, concentrating in science
- Maintain proper classroom management
- Strong classroom management & instructional strategies
- Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to meet the needs of all students
- Maintain communications with students, parents, staff and the community
- Ability to inspire and motivate students in the area of math
- Participate in district professional development programs as required
- Successfully complete required Safe Schools training.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal, and/or designee
