The Hartford School District (SD 54) is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to provide essential services to students at the middle and high school level. This role focuses on supporting students with motor skills development, self-regulation, sensory modulation, self-care, activities of daily living (ADL), assistive technology, and visual perceptual skills. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with educational teams, participate in IEP meetings, administer assessments, and develop individualized goals to promote student success and independence. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to consult with families and staff, and expertise in recommending school-based accommodations and environmental modifications.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, be nationally certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT), and possess a valid Vermont State License. Responsibilities include providing direct and consultative services, maintaining documentation in EdDocVT and Medicaid, managing tools and equipment, and coordinating Extended School Year (ESY) plans. This position follows the HEA Negotiated Agreement for workdays, salary, and benefits and is supervised by the Director of Special Education and building principals.
