What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Counsel (Part time) position at HARTING Americas?
HARTING aims to be a trusted advisor to HARTING customers and positions itself as the go-to source expert for industrial connectivity solutions. We partner directly with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Distribution partners for standard product, designed-in value-added products, and Product Development initiatives. Reporting directly to the General Counsel - Americas, the part-time Legal Counsel will directly partner with a range of functional departments, including sales, distribution, supply chain, and so on.
- Review, analyze, negotiate and draft NDAs, terms and conditions of sale, procurement contracts, policies, correspondence, training materials, and other legal documents
- Advise internal clients on legal and contractual rights, obligations, and interpretation of terms
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure the company’s desired business specifications are carried out
- Develop internal policies and procedures for contract management and corporate operations
- Other duties as assigned
- Juris Doctorate; Member of Bar in Good Standing, preferably Illinois
- 5-10 years of corporate experience in a strong law firm and/or with an in-house legal group
- Commercial contracts experience (including terms and conditions of sale, master supply agreements, procurement contracts, business agreements, employment contracts and non-disclosure agreements)
- Outstanding communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high activity environment, and able to handle ambiguity, juggle many matters at once, and quickly shift from one situation or task to another.
- Exceptional organizational and document management skills, the ability to deploy digital tools to support a legal team as it supports its organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience as in-house counsel or with a law firm dedicated in supporting an internal sales organization is strongly preferred
- Experience with Trade Law preferred, but not required

Compensation:
- As this is a part-time role (20-25 hours a week), it is an hourly position. The pay rate is commensurate with experience, ranging from $55-$72 per hour.
