Hartmann Young is exclusively partnered with an industry-leading manufacturer of science-based nutraceutical solutions is seeking a QA/QC Director to oversee and continuously improve its quality assurance and control functions. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal standards. The ideal candidate will drive quality excellence across all operations to support the production of safe, effective, and compliant products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure facility-wide compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, customer specifications, and third-party audit standards.
- Oversee implementation and operation of the Environmental Monitoring Program.
- Manage HACCP food safety and all associated prerequisite programs.
- Administer Hold and Release Program, Supplier Approval Program, and Product Stability Program.
- Conduct internal audits (GMP, sanitation, safety, and quality systems), ensuring timely documentation and corrective actions.
- Serve as the point of contact for external audits from clients and regulatory agencies.
- Review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) on a regular basis.
- Define and maintain product specifications for both new and existing products.
- Establish and track goals for process and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the rollout of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Train or coordinate training for all employees in GMP, HACCP, Sanitation, OSHA, and Food Defense—both annually and during onboarding.
- Supervise sanitation staff and maintain pest control, safety, and sanitation programs including the Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Manage customer-related quality documentation to support acquisition and retention.
- Investigate customer complaints, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate and maintain food safety certifications.
- Maintain document control for procedures and forms.
- Act as the facility's designated Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).
- Develop, review, and reanalyse the facility’s Food Safety Plan as required.
- Validate preventive controls within 90 days of production when applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology, food science).
- 5 years of experience in QA/QC roles in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or food manufacturing industries.
- Deep knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements relevant to dietary supplements or food production.
- Certified in HACCP principles.
- Completion of FDA-recognised PCQI training under standardised curriculum.
