Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Natural Gas Scheduler to join our gas marketing team. This position plays a key role in executing daily and monthly physical natural gas transactions by managing timely nominations, optimizing transportation, and maintaining clear communication with traders, counterparties, and pipeline operators. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute daily natural gas nominations across multiple pipelines and storage facilities in support of marketing and trading operations
- Track and understand volume commitments in gas supply and transportation contracts nominating supplies to optimize delivered costs within contract limits
- Monitor pipeline and/or LDC electronic bulletin boards for critical information including operational restrictions and emergencies and communicates the pertinent information internally
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with pipeline representatives, customers, and counterparties
- Track transportation discounts via pipeline bulletin boards and engage with pipeline representatives to ensure the use of cost-effective and reliable transport options
- Monitor pipeline capacities, system constraints, and scheduling cycles to maximize flow and minimize risk or penalties; review pipeline invoices for accuracy
- Assist in the review and reconciliation of gas transportation invoices from pipelines to assure accuracy and resolve discrepancies with pipeline transporters
- Provide scheduling support as required, including periodic weekend coverage and on-call availability to maintain uninterrupted natural gas flow and operational continuity
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- 1–3 years of experience in gas scheduling, logistics, or commercial operations within a marketing or trading setting
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Able to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with Traders
