What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interventionist/GT Coordinator position at Harts Bluff Elementary?
Harts Bluff Elementary is seeking a passionate and skilled educator to serve as both an Interventionist (K-5th grade) and GT(Fifted & Talented) Coordinator (K-12) for the 2025-2026 school year.
This dual role position focuses on providing targeted small-group instruction (Monday-Thurdays) - primarily in reading, with additional support in math as needed - as well as coordinating services and support for our identified gifted learners across kindergarten throught 12th grade (Fridays). The ideal candidated brings strong phonics instruction experience, a data-driven mindset, and a heart for student growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, small group intervention in reading and, when needed, in math
- Use assessment data to pan and deliver targeted instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators to align support efforts
- Contribute to the MTSS lead team through participation in MTSS meeting
- Identify GT students in accordance with district guidelines and timelines
- Provide engaging, standards-aligned GT pull-out services for identified students
- Serve as the campus liaison for GT programming, including family communication, enrichment planning, and compliance with state and district requirements.
Education/Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with EC-6 (or equivalent) certification
- Completion of 30-hour GT foundation training or willingness to complete in summer 2025
Preferred Experience (Not required):
- Teaching or instructional support in both reading and math
- Experience with STAAR testing and data-driven instruction
- experience supporting or coordinating GT programs
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Demostrate knowledge and experience in phonics instruction
- Knowledge of corriculum, instruction, and intervention strategies for assingned grade levels

- Ability to analyze data and provide effective intervention for at-risk students
- strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Positive, collaborative approach when working with students, families, and educators
