Areas of Responsibility:

· Administer medications.

· Document all medications administered after administering.

· Perform various treatments not requiring licensed nurse such as hot/cold applications, vital signs, weights etc.

· Observe, record and report observations. Monitor for medication effects, withhold when effects are observed. Take vitals prior to administration on certain medications. Report incidents to Charge Nurse.

· Adheres to Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures and practice universal precautions.

· Communicate with residents and staff in an understandable, honest and caring manner.

· Must be able to safely perform all essential job functions.

· Must maintain unit and work area in clean and safe manner. Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

· QMA Certificate in good standing on file with the Indiana State Department of Health

· CNA Certification must be current and in good standing with the Indiana Nursing Assistant Registry

· CPR Card required

· Demonstrated compassion for Seniors and their families.

· Experience working in a long-term care setting preferred.

· Ability to administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

· Desire and ability to work productively as part of a team to provide Excellent Customer and Clinical Services.

· Ability to perform basic math.

· Ability to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

· Must be able to lift, move and turn residents, push/pull medication cart weighing 300 pounds a distance of 600 feet.
