SUMMARY/PURPOSE:
The Department Supervisor will be a self-motivated team member with excellent communication skills and experience leading, directing, and evaluating employees.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE
· Ability to use a tape measure accurately within 1/16 inch
· Ability to understand product names and terminology
· Ability to train, motivate, and lead employees in the department
· Proficient in MS Office products and ability to learn other computer systems
· Attention to detail to maintain accuracy and quality
· Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES
· Check email correspondence several times through the day and reply to all questions within 24 hours
· Observe and comply with company safety rules and perform monthly safety audit
· Maintain excellent attendance record
· Identify and resolve issues and assist with process improvements
· Maintain a clean work environment including but not limited to ensuring floors are swept, barrel and hoppers are emptied daily
· Lead, direct, and evaluate sorting and end of line employees
· Communicate with other departments to maintain production and shipping schedules
· Calculate and publish fill rates
· Carry countertops from skids to racks or other skids
· Pick product and stage finished countertops in preparation for rigging
· Print pick lists, count and verify material on skid matches pick list
· Ensure product is scanned to sorting racks
· Transport skids to rigging department
· Ensure all skidded material is compared to tally sheets for scanning accuracy
· Follow and ensure team is following safe stacking guidelines
· Inspect skids at the end of lines to verify they are loaded correctly and in a safe manner
· Inspect countertops at minimum four times per shift (every two hours) to prevent quality concerns
· Train and Cross Train team members in department functions
· Assist in updating department work instructions as required
· Assign and complete corrective actions
· Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Ability to lift 80 pounds
· Ability to lift and carry boards individually
· Ability to stand and walk on concrete for long periods
· Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed throughout the shift
EXPECTED HOURS
· Availability to work 8 or 10 hours per day and additional overtime hours Monday - Saturday
· Availability to start work before regular shift and remain after shift
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
