Description
Hartung Glass is looking for a hands-on, go-getter Maintenance Technician for our Farmers Branch, TX glass fabrication facility. If you like to diagnose, take apart machinery and put things back together, this is the job for you. This position oversees and personally handles the plant maintenance programs and processes, under direction of the Maintenance Manager, in order to ensure safe, timely and efficient operation of all facilities, plant machinery and equipment. Starting pay $28 an hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintains function and reliability of all facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts
· Ensures that periodic and preventive maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished and that emergency troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed
· Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations and keeping the facility as clean as possible
· Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews
· Performs a variety of mechanical duties throughout the entire plant including electrical, plumbing, welding, etc.
· Examines machines to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failure.
· Dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
· May fabricate machine guards, install or repair conveyers, replace motors, tear down or replace pumps, maintain fluid collection or distribution equipment or repair electro-mechanical equipment.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
· Stays current on all OSHA and CAL-OSHA regulations to ensure facility compliance on safety protocols
Required Skills/Knowledge:
· Methods and techniques of troubleshooting, repairing, and installing plant equipment.
· OSHA and environmental rules and regulations
· Electrical codes and accepted practices
· Programmable logic controls, co-processors and smart relays
· Methods and techniques of handling and transporting hazardous waste, chemicals, and gases
· Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications
· Ability to source equipment vendors and sources of spare parts and replacement equipment
· Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Other Qualifications:
· High school Diploma or equivalent
· Specialized training in Mechanical, or electrical systems maintenance
· Ability to read and write in English
· 2 years machine maintenance experience required
· Experience with electrical, welding, plumbing, mechanical repairs, HVAC, etc.
· CNC machine maintenance experience preferred
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Glass industry experience preferred
