Job Title: Counter Sales/Cashier

Job Summary:

As a Counter Sales/Cashier at Hartville Hardware, you play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth point-of-sale transactions. This position requires a guest-focused mindset, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to assist guests with their purchases and provide an overall positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greet guests warmly, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist guests in locating products, answering inquiries, and offering product recommendations.
• Address guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally.

Point-of-Sale Transactions:

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register or point-of-sale system.
• Handle cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment securely.
• Ensure correct change and receipts are provided to guest.

Product Knowledge:

• Develop a good understanding of the store's product offerings, including hardware, tools, and accessories.
• Stay informed about promotions, discounts, and special offers to effectively communicate these to guests.

Order Fulfillment:

• Assist in fulfilling guest orders and coordinating with other departments to ensure timely product availability.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor and maintain inventory levels at the counter.
• Collaborate with the inventory control team to restock products as needed.

Merchandising:

• Keep the counter area clean, organized, and visually appealing.
• Assist with merchandising efforts to promote featured products and maximize sales opportunities.

Cash Handling and Reporting:

• Reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift and prepare accurate daily reports.
• Adhere to cash-handling policies and procedures.

Compliance and Security:

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor security at the counter area and report any suspicious activities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
